Fratelli Alessandria Wine Pairing Dinner With Domenico Di Luccio | 15th Nov

Fratelli Alessandria, is one of the most long-standing wineries in the area, having already been operational around the middle of the 1800s, at the time of the birth of Barolo. Initially known as Fratelli Dabbene, the estate traces its first commercial wine release back to 1830. From 1870 on, after a marriage, it has been called Fratelli Alessandria.

Since the mid-19th century, the Alessandria family has called this gentle landscape home. In 1870, when the family first established their farm, calling it Fratelli Alessandria, Verduno was the center of Barolo winemaking—it was here where families first crafted dry Nebbiolo wines in the style we know today, and also bottled wines individually instead of shipping in cask. Because of this, the village was internationally recognized as the face of Barolo and sought out by collectors across the European continent.

Working hard in recent years to give more precision to their charming wines: more leaves, fewer treatments in the vineyards, and investing in a battery of Swiss coopered Slavonian oak botti have all helped increase focus on the wines. Made in a traditional and non-interventionist way, the wines are fermented gently and slowly before elevage in a large oak cask for three years. These are some of the aromatic, elegant, and charming Barolos you’ll find.
