Job Description:

Join our fine dining team as a Junior Sous Chef and bring your culinary support to the forefront. We seek a candidate with a food preparation and meal planning background, proficient in kitchen management to ensure smooth operations. The primary focus of this role is to maintain kitchen efficiency while delivering top-quality food. Additionally, the candidate will play a vital role in menu planning, development, and implementation. If you’re an experienced and dedicated chef seeking to showcase your skills in a Michelin-starred establishment, we invite you to be part of our team in creating exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with sous chef and executive/head chef to manage kitchen operations.
  • Assist in food preparation and ensure compliance with plating standards.
  • Create high-quality, aesthetically pleasing dishes.
  • Coach, counsel, and provide constructive feedback to staff.
  • Support inventory management, order supplies, and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Uphold food quality and maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Adhere to food safety standards.
  • Contribute creative ideas to enhance kitchen performance, menus, and service.
  • Manage staff shift schedules.
  • Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, arranging repairs and service as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in food hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Effective communication skills with customers and colleagues.
  • Has an excellent record of kitchen and staff management with good communication skills
  • Ensures that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment (e.g., dishwashers, hotplates, cookers).
  • Physical stamina for extended periods on your feet.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Flexibility to work late or unconventional hours.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and listening skills.
  • Strong multitasking capabilities.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team

Collaborate closely with different departments, contribute to optimising operations, and maintain an organised environment. Responsibilities:

– Manage and oversee various operational aspects to ensure smooth daily functioning.
– Collaborate with different departments to uphold fine dining service standards.
– Contribute ideas and strategies to enhance operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
– Monitor and maintain adherence to established protocols for guest experiences.
– Assist in coordinating events and functions, ensuring their seamless execution.
– Proactively identify and address operational challenges, ensuring timely solutions.
– Keep records, reports, and documentation related to operations.
– Maintain an organized and well-maintained environment.
– Foster effective communication and teamwork among staff and departments.
– Contribute to creating an atmosphere of excellence and hospitality.
– Communicating with Chinese Guests is required therefore Proficiency in Mandarin is a must.

We are open to applicants who have no prior experience as well. Relevant experience will be an advantage.
